This is the continuation of my response to Bishop Efraim Tendero’s statement, as posted in a private Facebook group.

Luke 12:28-31 (New International Version)

28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Proverbs 30:14 (New Living Translation)

14 They have teeth like swords
and fangs like knives.
They devour the poor from the earth
and the needy from among humanity. [Eugenics]

Psalm 82:3-5 (New Living Translation)

3 “Give justice to the poor and the orphan;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
4 Rescue the poor and helpless;
deliver them from the grasp of evil people.
5 But these oppressors know nothing;
they are so ignorant!
They wander about in darkness,
while the whole world is shaken to the core.

[True believers should defend the poor and helpless against those who do evil, NOT join hands with those who desire to do evil upon the poor and helpless.]

GOD IS PROLIFE! NO TO “RH” BILL!

This is my response to PCEC National Director’s Bishop Efraim “Ef” Tendero’s opening statement on the Great Debate on RH Bill to be aired tomorrow on GMA.

I beg to disagree with this statement.

“Seasonale
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Estrogen/progestogen combination oral contraceptive; acts by suppression of gonadotropins. Primarily inhibits ovulation. Also produces other alterations including changes in the cervical mucus (increases difficulty of sperm entry into uterus) and endometrium (REDUCES LIKELIHOOD OF IMPLANTATION).

Physicians’ Desk Reference, PDR.net“

Preventing implantation = MEDICAL ABORTION. According to prolife doctors, the birth control pill is both contraceptive AND abortive.

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

NO TO ABORTION! REJECT THE RH BILL!

RH does NOT…

1. Protect the lives and health of mothers

The RH Bill promotes the use of birth control pills, which increases the risk of HIV transmission, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, cervical cancer, breast cancer as well as liver cancer for those who are otherwise considered low risk. Not to mention it decreases libido/sexual desires, makes women irritable (akin to pregnancy mood swings) and feel depressed (Catawampus?) and alas! even pick bad partners. “In addition, birth control pills can deplete the following nutrients: • Vitamin B2 • Vitamin B6 • Vitamin B12 • Folic Acid • Vitamin C • Magnesium • Zinc.”

“Contraceptives do not heighten cancer risks” is a lie as multiple studies have already proven otherwise. The massive misinformation campaign by Likhaan and other groups is truly appalling. WHO’s Dr. Van Look is obviously prochoice/pro-abortion. After all, he’s the Director of Reproductive Health and Research! Would he really say contraception and “safe” abortion are bad for you?

I do not buy the claim by RH Bill/contraception advocates either that the benefits (example, supposed decrease in risk of ovarian cancer) outweigh the risks. Why put my life at risk when there are other options? Why risk the lives and health of women in the Philippines? Why would you give known Group 1 carcinogens to healthy mothers?

2. Save babies

Birth control pills are abortifacients. In short, the pill kills babies. (So do IUDs, by the way.) Here’s how:

Example: Seasonale
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Estrogen/progestogen combination oral contraceptive; acts by suppression of gonadotropins. Primarily inhibits ovulation. Also produces other alterations including changes in the cervical mucus (increases difficulty of sperm entry into uterus) and endometrium (REDUCES LIKELIHOOD OF IMPLANTATION).

Physician’s Desk Reference, PDR.net

Preventing implantation = MEDICAL ABORTION. The birth control pill is both contraceptive AND abortive. NO TO ABORTION!
3. Respond to the many who want smaller families

Given the many risks discussed above, I recommend the Natural Family Planning method to couples who would like to have “smaller families”. Here are the top ten myths associated with the NFP. When it comes to family planning, go natural!

4. Promote equity for poor families

When you start with the wrong premise (for example, that having too many children (blessings!) is a problem) as RH bill supporters are prone to do, then you will surely reach the wrong conclusions. Please watch this series of videos and others like it by Congressman Roilo Golez affirming the sanctity of human life and the vital role OFWs have played in our nation’s economy. His debate with the bill sponsor is also quite interesting.

5. Prevent induced abortions

It is very clear that the RH Bill is a precursor to abortion legalization in the Philippines for “abortion is an integral part of reproductive health care.” The bill’s author and “women’s rights” groups can deny this all they want but it is very clear that the Center for Reproductive Rights, UNFPA and such groups are applying pressure on the government to legalize abortion in the country.

Worldwide, it is understood that “reproductive health” equals access to contraception and if contraception fails, access to abortion “care” for any reason whatsoever during the whole nine months of pregnancy. Incidentally, in America, “two-thirds (2/3) of unplanned pregnancies are due to the failure of birth control”, while in France, about two-thirds of “unplanned pregnancies were among women using contraceptives”. How convenient for abortion providers.

Former abortionist, Carol Everett, described abortion quotas in the documentary film Blood Money:

“Our goal was three to five abortions from every girl from the ages 13 to 18.” We would “sell abortions by using sex education to break down the natural modesty of children, separate them from their parents and their values, and establish the abortion provider as the sex expert in young people’s lives. So they would turn to us when we would give them a low-dose birth control pill they would get pregnant on, or a defective condom.”

(Please see point number 2 for the abortifacient effect of oral contraceptive pills.)

6. Support and deploy more public midwives, nurses and doctors

The RH bill is not necessary to do this. What is badly needed is the proper implementation of health-related laws that are already in place. It is foolish to think that passing the said bill will then poof! immediately solve our brain drain problem and stop our kababayans from seeking “greener” pastures abroad. Has any education bill, may I ask, put an end to the perennial teacher shortage problem in the country? We need to introduce more effective means of encouraging health workers to remain in the country. The RH Bill will not accomplish this.

7. Guarantee funding for & equal access to health facilities

The RH bill will use THREE BILLION PESOS to purchase carcinogenic birth control pills, IUDs, condoms, etc.; to poison your children’s minds with sex education; to educate the poor that contraception (cough abortion) is the solution to their poverty; and so on. Bakit ba tayo magpapaloko sa mga taong ito? Who will earn from the RH Bill? Manufacturers of condoms in China, etc. and those who will earn “commissions”. The RH Bill is pro-kurakot and pro-state control and therefore, is in reality anti-poor and anti-freedom. In a word, anti-Filipino. ‘Nuff said.

8. Give accurate & positive sexuality education to young people

“Prochoice” comprehensive sex education anywhere is anything BUT medically accurate, age-appropriate and positive. In the US, states “with liberal sex-ed policies actually have higher rates of pregnancy for girls under 18.” Comprehensive sex education encourages promiscuity in teens, arming them with the “right information” on contraception use for their sexual encounters, rather than encouraging them to abstain from sex and truly save themselves from risk of unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases and related emotional/mental issues.

“Our children have been raised on risky education rather than on healthy education. They have learned all about safe and safer sex rather than about saved sex.” (Alabama Physicians For Life, Inc.)

9. Reduce cancer deaths

As already stated above, the RH Bill will cause an increase in cancer cases among women in the country. More cases, not less. Information on self breast exams, Pap smears, etc. are already being disseminated by health practitioners nationwide and pertinent medical services are provided by the same. What is needed is improved access among the poor. The RH bill is not necessary to accomplish this.

It is a common ploy by “prochoicers” to distract people from the real issue by using the “reduce cancer deaths” or “reduce maternal deaths” card and they always take credit for the success other movements or organizations have achieved. What they have actually done to do this remains to be seen.

10. Save money that can be used for even more social spending

Please see point number 7.

I am a woman. I believe health is wealth but I want real health and reliable information, not misinformation spread by abortion providers and supporters who call themselves “prochoice” but deny medical practitioners their right to choose based on conscience, deny women accurate medical information so they can freely exercise their right to choose life, and deny precious children their right to life.

I am pro-women and pro-poor. I DO NOT trust Planned Parenthood. I DO NOT trust the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), Gabriela, Likhaan or other such “pro-women” groups in the Philippines who receives/d financial support from the largest abortion provider in America. Planned Abortion/Babykilling is what their name should be.

Josh Brahm of The Prolife Podcast told a story about a factory worker working in a condom factory holding a pin, exclaiming, “You’re not safe! You’re not safe!” as he happily poked holes at condoms at random. WOW.

This made me wonder, how safe is “safe sex”? Can you really TRUST condoms?

When you consider that an HIV virus is 450 times smaller than a sperm, the slightest flaw, the most minuscule hole is going to result in the escape of the virus. http://www.epm.org/resources/2010/Mar/26/condoms-we-trust/

The condom has a failure rate that is estimated to be between 10-30%. There are several reasons: breakage or slippage during use, manufacturing defects, and defects caused by shipping and storage in a hot or very cold place.

Moms with condom babies say, “No, of course not!”

Doctors don’t trust them.

“Simply put, condoms fail. And condoms fail at a rate unacceptable for me as a physician to endorse them as a strategy to be promoted as meaningful AIDS protection.” Dr. Robert Renfield, chief of retro-viral research, Walter Reed Army Institute

Even the “family planning” experts who promote contraceptives don’t trust them!

Even the experts aren’t certain condoms can guarantee against sexual transmission of the HIV virus. Theresa Crenshaw, M.D., has been a member of the President’ s Commission on HIV. She is past president of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists and once asked this question to 500 marriage and family therapists in Chicago: “How many of you recommend condoms for AIDS protection?”

A majority of the hands went up. Then she asked how many in the room would have sex with an AIDS infected partner using a condom. Not one hand went up. [emphasis mine]

These were marriage and family therapists, the “experts” who advise others. Dr. Crenshaw admonished them that, “It is irresponsible to give students, clients, patients advice that you would not live by yourself because they may die by it.” What does this tell you about the confidence experts have in condoms to protect persons against AIDS?
http://www.leaderu.com/offices/rusty_wright/safesex.html

Please think about this before you have “safe sex”. Consider your future. Choose life.

What is oDesk?

For me, oDesk is a God-send. I’ve always wanted to find legitimate work from home jobs. No doubt about it, oDesk is the best online job marketplace. Learn more about oDesk from their About page.

How can I earn money from oDesk? How can I get started as an oDesk provider?

STEP 1. Register at oDesk for free. Absolutely NO registration or joining fee.

STEP 2. Create your own provider profile. Sample: Check out my profile.

STEP 3. Download the latest oDesk Team Application. Familiarize yourself with the oDesk Team tool.

STEP 4. Freelancers are called providers on oDesk. Read the oDesk help files specifically intended for providers.

STEP 5. Take the oDesk Readiness Test.

STEP 6. Take other oDesk skills tests for free. Take those that are related to your area(s) of expertise. Also check out other testing websites like Brainbench (free tests).

STEP 7. Start applying for oDesk projects related to your line of work.

DO NOT advertise your freelance services here. This is where clients or buyers post their projects or jobs which providers from different countries apply for.

For guaranteed pay, apply only for hourly (not fixed rate) projects preferably from buyers with prior oDesk experience, i.e. good feedback.

Most, if not all, buyers prefer that you write a unique cover letter so don’t copypaste your cover letters!

Interviews can be done through the oDesk Message Center, IMs (Yahoo Messenger, Skype), emails, or phone. Not all buyers require an interview.

Be prepared to get lots of rejection letters. That’s normal. Don’t take it personally. Focus on your wins, not your losses. “You need to look forward not backward.”

STEP 8. Be sure to ace your first job. Your goal is to get a 5.0 rating and great feedback on your first job so that you can get other better-paying jobs regularly.

Check out oDesk Blog: Factors to Freelancing Success for more tips. I am one of the Panel of Experts.

Even seasoned transcriptionists can do at least one thing to further improve their transcription skills. Make your current best even better by following these ten simple tips for improving your transcripts:

Sharpen your English skills.
Take online quizzes and tests at least once a month. There are free tests on websites like Brainbench. If you’re used to transcribing in US English, take a test in UK English. You might be pleasantly surprised as I was by the results. I came out in the Top 10 when I took the Brainbench UK Written English test two years ago. I also landed the top spot for test takers from the Philippines.

Sharpen your typing skills.
Pretend you’re a newbie and Google ‘typing freeware’ or browse Download.com. Get new typing software that works for you and type away! Find out what your weak spot is (words you often misspell, for example). I personally enjoy word games and typing games so these are great ways to refresh and learn before tackling that next project.

Learn a new writing style or format.
Review or read about a format you’re unfamiliar with. If you’re used to the Chicago Manual of Style try reading about other formatting styles. This will enable you to apply for transcription jobs from buyers or clients who prefer that particular format.

Learn new tools.
I constantly search the world wide web for new tools, such as online dictionaries and freeware. Download new tools from Download.com so you can create even better transcripts. I love using Net Transport for downloading audio/video files, OneLook Reverse Dictionary and Ditto clipboard software for easier copypasting. These are great time savers!

Follow the rules.
Every client has a different set of rules that you must follow. If you gain a new client, stick to his or her rules and resist the urge to do your own thing or to follow the rules that your previous client has given you. When in doubt, ask. Take note of lessons or skills learned from your new client.

Learn from your past mistakes.
If possible, get a copy of edited or corrected transcripts so you can learn from your mistakes. Find out what your weaknesses are and learn how to best overcome them.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Thomas A. Edison US inventor (1847-1931)

Take time for self-improvement.
Even five-star providers or freelancers need a break. Devote 15 to 30 minutes each day for personal development. Learn a new type of exercise one day and practice a relaxation technique the next. Find out what suits you best and what time works for you. What’s important is that you take time for yourself so you can give your best each time you’re working on a file.

Take onsite projects.
Take an onsite project, if available and if your schedule permits, just to gain more experience and possibly even more contacts with prospective clients. If you’re experiencing some downtime in your online business, find out if there are transcriptionists in your area (or elsewhere in the world for that matter!) with an overflow of work that they’d be more than glad to delegate to someone else. I got a text message yesterday from one of our team leaders that her friend needs home-based medical transcriptionists!

Learn from others.
Get tips from other transcriptionists. Find out what tools (online dictionaries, word expanders, etc.) or techniques they are using. Read related blogs and listen to relevant podcasts. I can recall many times where the right piece of information landed on my lap just when I needed it most.

Share with others.
If you’re a gifted speaker or teacher, look for ways to share your knowledge in your community or even online through Skype. Your knowledge expands even as you start sharing your knowledge to other people. Volunteer your time and provide free service to charitable organizations. This is one great way to further sharpen your skill and get good feedback for your sales letters or business blogs and possibly even business referrals.

Well, there you have it. What’s your own top ten tips for better transcripts? Please feel free to share them in the comments section below or write about it and leave a link here. I’d be more than glad to learn from you.

Norma McCorvey and Sandra Cano, the women whose Supreme Court cases (Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton respectively) made abortion legal on demand in the U.S., both now oppose abortion.

In an interview on 8/10/95 with WBAP radio in Dallas, McCorvey announced, “I’m pro-life. I think I’ve always been pro-life, I just didn’t know it” (Reaves, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/11/95). McCorvey, claimed before Roe that she had been raped, was 21 and pregnant when approached by attorney Sarah Weddington about suing for the right to have an abortion. McCorvey never had an abortion, because the decision came too late. She carried the baby to term and gave her up for adoption. McCorvey later admitted that she had not been raped (ibid., 8/11). ABC’s “World News Tonight” and “Nightline” featured exclusive interviews with McCorvey, in which she renounced her role in the abortion advocacy movement and declared that “abortion is wrong.”

“I think abortion is wrong. I think what I did with Roe vs. Wade was wrong, and I just have to take a pro-life position on [abortion]” (“World News Tonight,” 8/10/95).

McCorvey spent time assisted the pro-abortion movement after the case by was treated poorly by pro-abortion leaders and haunted by simple things like empty swings in a playground.” McCorvey: “They were swinging back and forth but they were all empty. And I just totally lost it, and I thought ‘Oh my God. are empty because there’s no children, because they’ve all been aborted’” (“World News Tonight,” 8/10/95).

From Norma McCorvey: “Abortion has been founded on lies and deception from the very beginning. All I did was lie about how I got pregnant. I was having an affair. It all started out as a little lie. I said what I needed to say. But, my little lie grew and grew and became more horrible with each telling. Sarah and Linda’s (the pro-abortion attorneys in Roe) eyes seemed blinded to my obvious inability to tell the same story twice. It was good for the cause. It read well in the newspapers. With the help of willing media the credibility of well-known columnists, the lie became known as the truth these past 25 years.”

“I did not go to the Supreme Court on behalf of a class of women. I wasn’t pursuing any legal remedy to my unwanted pregnancy. I did not go to the federal courts for relief. I went to Sarah Weddington asking her if she knew how I could obtain an abortion. She and Linda Coffey said they didn’t know where to get one. They lied to me just like I lied to them. Sarah already had an abortion. She knew where to get one. Sarah and Linda were just looking for somebody, anybody, to further their own agenda. I was their willing dupe. For this, I will forever be ashamed.”

“But, my life has been restored to me, and I now have the privilege of speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.” (Ibid.)

Cano: “I am against abortion. I never sought an abortion. I never had an abortion. Abortion is murder. For over 20 years, and against my will, my name has been synonymous with abortion. The Doe vs. Bolton case is based on deceit and fraud. I never participated in this case. The Supreme Court had already made up their minds. They didn’t care what was in the affidavits. I never wanted to be a part of this.” (LeBoeuf, CHATTANOOGA FREE PRESS, 3/24/97).

“Women must have control over their own bodies.”

“Safe and legal abortion is every woman’s right.”

“Who decides? You decide!”

“Freedom of choice — a basic American right.”

The “pro-choice movement’s” emotionally compelling slogans — fierce rallying cries of the most successful political marketing campaign in modern history, which made abortion-on-demand legal in the U.S. — have been powerful rhetorical weapons for fighting off efforts to reverse Roe v. Wade, coming up on its 30th anniversary next month.

“I remember laughing when we made those slogans up,” recalls Bernard Nathanson, M.D., co-founder of pro-abortion group NARAL, reminiscing about the early days of the pro-abortion movement in the late ’60s and early ’70s.

“We were looking for some sexy, catchy slogans to capture public opinion. They were very cynical slogans then, just as all of these slogans today are very, very cynical.”

Besides having served as chairman of the executive committee of NARAL — originally, the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws, and later renamed the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League — as well as its medical committee, Nathanson was one of the principal architects and strategists of the abortion movement in the United States. He tells an astonishing story.

“In 1968 I met Lawrence Lader,” says Nathanson. “Lader had just finished a book called Abortion, and in it had made the audacious demand that abortion should be legalized throughout the country. I had just finished a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and was impressed with the number of women who were coming into our clinics, wards and hospitals suffering from illegal, infected, botched abortions.”

“Lader and I were perfect for each other. We sat down and plotted out the organization now known as NARAL. With Betty Friedan, we set up this organization and began working on the strategy.”

“We persuaded the media that the cause of permissive abortion was a liberal, enlightened, sophisticated one,” recalls the movement’s co-founder. “Knowing that if a true poll were taken, we would be soundly defeated, we simply fabricated the results of fictional polls. We announced to the media that we had taken polls and that 60 percent of Americans were in favor of permissive abortion. This is the tactic of the self-fulfilling lie. Few people care to be in the minority. We aroused enough sympathy to sell our program of permissive abortion by fabricating the number of illegal abortions done annually in the U.S. The actual figure was approaching 100,000, but the figure we gave to the media repeatedly was 1,000,000.”

“Repeating the big lie often enough convinces the public. The number of women dying from illegal abortions was around 200-250 annually. The figure we constantly fed to the media was 10,000. These false figures took root in the consciousness of Americans, convincing many that we needed to crack the abortion law.

“Another myth we fed to the public through the media was that legalizing abortion would only mean that the abortions taking place illegally would then be done legally. In fact, of course, abortion is now being used as a primary method of birth control in the U.S. and the annual number of abortions has increased by 1,500 percent since legalization.”

What was the result of NARAL’s brilliantly deceitful marketing campaign, bolstered by thoroughly fraudulent research? In New York, the law outlawing abortion had been on the books for 140 years. “In two years of work, we at NARAL struck that law down,” says Nathanson. “We lobbied the legislature, we captured the media, we spent money on public relations. … Our first year’s budget was $7,500. Of that, $5,000 was allotted to a public relations firm to persuade the media of the correctness of our position. That was in 1969.”

New York immediately became the abortion capital for the eastern half of the United States.

“We were inundated with applicants for abortion,” says Nathanson. “To that end, I set up a clinic, the Center for Reproductive and Sexual Health (C.R.A.S.H.), which operated in the east side of Manhattan. It had 10 operating rooms, 35 doctors, 85 nurses. It operated seven days a week, from 8 am to midnight. We did 120 abortions every day in that clinic. At the end of the two years that I was the director, we had done 60,000 abortions. I myself, with my own hands, have done 5,000 abortions. I have supervised another 10,000 that residents have done under my direction. So I have 75,000 abortions in my life. Those are pretty good credentials to speak on the subject of abortion.”

But something happened to Nathanson — something profound. Just as it happened to countless other abortion practitioners, abortion facility owners and staffers. Just as it happened to Norma McCorvey — the real name for “Jane Roe,” the plaintiff in the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion decision.

These pioneers of the pro-abortion movement have all arrived at the same conclusion — that abortion is the unjust killing of a human baby — and have come over to the other side of the raging abortion debate.

“Brothers, in Black America alone every seventy-two (72) seconds a black baby is murdered in the womb of his or her mother. This holocaust is genocidal to the point that today a black child has less than a fifty-percent (50%) chance of being born. According to the 2006 U.S. Census, Black Americans are below the replacement level. In other words, death in Black America outpaces life. Abortion alone accounts for three (3) times more deaths in our community than HIV/AIDS, Violent Crimes, Accidents, Cancer, and Heart Disease combined. There is no question pre-natal murder, abortion, is the number one issue in not only Black America, but in all of America today.” (Walter Hoye, http://www.issues4life.org/pdfs/20090330_call_to_action.pdf)
